April 13, 2012 - hind-smith.com partners with CEPM to develop enterprise property management system.

We have partnered with Central Erin Property Management to create a collaborative application that will change the way the property management industry operates. The system will dramatically streamline the massive amount of information required to operate a property management business.

Central Erin specializes in residential and commercial/retail management in Southern Ontario and manages over 2,400 residential high-rise and townhouse units, and approximately 300,000 sq ft of commercial/retail space with an asset value of over $100,000,000.

The system we are building combines a powerful web portal, iPad application, and desktop software to provide useful tools for tenants, property managers, and shareholders (building owners and Board of Director members).

Tenants will be able to submit issues and queries via the web portal and to see when regular maintenance has been scheduled.

Using an iPad, property managers will be able to take pictures and videos of building issues and submit them with commentary into the system. They will also be able to complete check in/out documentation for when a tenant is leaving a unit or moving into one.

Property shareholders will be able to view building reports, financial, and legal documents associated with properties they own.

Property Management head offices will be able to manage all information related to properties via the desktop client, and dynamically make changes to the web portal with a user friendly content management system reducing the need for IT overhead.

January 9, 2012 - hind-smith.com partners with Funnel Communications to create and host a major series of FileMaker driven websites. Funnel Communications, Canada’s largest association management agency has partnered with hind-smith.com to create web based portal systems to help associations manage and deliver their data to their members and the public.

All systems use FileMaker 11 in the backend to make content management simple for the administrators of the various sites. By editing information directly in FileMaker, the various websites are instantly changed rather then a secondary import/export feature with mySQL as was done previously. The efficiency of staff administering the sites has been dramatically improved.

August 5, 2011 - hind-smith.com signs agreement with Levitt-Safety to create catalogue publishing system. With fourteen strategically located branches, Oakville based Levitt-Safety is ideally equipped to serve a large base of geographic and market sectors. In addition to the distribution of products, they also offer a complete line of Signature Services that support every aspect of the Health & Safety market as a whole.

To support this activity, Levitt publishes a 500+ page colour catalogue that in the past required a significant amount of manual design time to produce. Working with Levitt, hind-smith.com will be building a FileMaker 11 system that holds all text, categories, and images required to produce the catalogue and will automatically interface with InDesign to automate large portions of the catalogue production.

April 6, 2009 - hind-smith.com launches Case Management System (CMS) for Ombudsman Ontario. These transactions will be used by the investigations and resolution teams at Ombudsman to resolve issues and provide summary trend analysis.

 

February 1, 2009 - Liaison College, a private career college focused solely and exclusively on career training in the culinary arts has selected hind-smith.com to provide school management software for their 10 campuses located throughout Ontario. The software will manage students, courses, enrollment levels, marketing, and financials. hind-smith.com will be providing training and 24/7 support services in conjunction with the application.

 

June 12, 2008 - Toronto's North by Northeast Music & Film Festival and Conference (NXNE) has chosen hind-smith.com to create and support the festival artist, venue, registration, and scheduling system. The application will allow the program managers and operations staff to select and schedule the over 500 bands spread among 50 venues in Toronto, and subsequently register the 70,000 attendees attending the festival. The system also interfaces with the myNXNE website, a unique online feature activated to coincide with the lineup announcement. Fans can log on, listen to MP3s from NXNE bands, choose the shows they want to see, and create a schedule for themselves.

 

June 30, 2007 - NOW Magazine, Toronto's weekly news and entertainment voice with circulation of over 110,000 copies has selected hind-smith.com to create a listing management system for their art, music, stage, film, and food sections as well as their guides. The software will allow editors to enter and manage information about various listings quickly and intuitively. Once the listing has been accepted, an interface with Adobe InDesign will export the data directly from the FileMaker application so that it is formatted and print ready for publication. At the same time, the web edition at www.nowtoronto.com will pull and format the same information into the ColdFusion driven website.

Working with our partners at design firm Interfusion (www.interfusion.cc) hind-smith.com helped launch the new Sony Store Pulse websites. (www.thesonystorepulse.ca and www.maisonsonypulse.ca). hind-smith.com is hosting the site at our centre, providing web analytics of traffic, and will be developing web enabled CRM applications to tie in with Sony's new loyalty marketing program.



June 1, 2004 - New development and hosting facility added:
hind-smith.com has added a second development and hosting facility in the west end of Toronto. Located at 5429 Dundas Street West, the facility will serve as the new hub of development activity we perform for our clients.
